The grizzled bar
Had not got scars
From playing gentle games.
The heart of hard
Acts as a guard
Against what cruelly tames.
The mountain called
Bar to a brawl
For digging up its slopes,
Then stole his claws
To even odds
And thieve whatever hopes
A bar might have
At least in half
Against a mighty mount.
With teeth to spare,
Bar plucked like hair
A pawful from his mouth.
Those teeth he put
Upon each foot
To serve as dogged claws,
And serve they did
To end the bid
Of mountain making laws.
The grizzled bar
Who fortune marred
Dug mountain to a lake,
Then went to hunt,
To find, confront,
The next foe he might make.
